To earth's deepest challenges: Jiaolong, 6300 meters dive again

On May 23, China's deep-sea manned submersible Jiaolong successfully completed its first dive in the third stage of China's 38th ocean scientific expedition. This dive was for engineering, and the survey area was Mariana Trench, the world's deepest place (the deepest point is 11034 meters). Crew members had stayed underwater for nearly 9 hours, and 3 hours and 11 minutes for seabed operation. The maximum depth of this dive had reached 4811 meters under the sea, which filled a blank in operation of 4000 meters depth of Marianas Trench.

On May 25, Jiaolong managed to find out the hydrophore it left in 6,300 meters depth of Marianas Trench a year ago due to special situation, turning the story of "the search for a needle in a haystack" into reality.

The Jiaolong core R&D team members will participate in Subsea Event China

According to organizing committee of International Underwater Intervention Conference and Exhibition (also known as “Subsea Event China”), Marine Underwater engineering research institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, who designed the internal tank of Jiaolong, along with China Ship Scientific Research Center, will participate in Subsea Event China from November 3 to November 5. Meanwhile, another core R&D team member, Shenyang Institute of Automation Chinese Academy of Sciences, will share the latest research news with exhibitors and buyers during this event.
